What Discover Scuba Diving actually involves
A guided introductory dive for absolute beginners. We teach you everything you need to know on the boat, then take you down to 6 metres on a calm Hurghada reef under the close watch of a private instructor.
Is Discover Scuba right for you?
Discover Scuba is the gentlest possible introduction to the underwater world. You don't need to be a strong swimmer, you don't need any prior experience, and you don't have to commit to a multi-day course. If you've ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater and float weightless above a coral reef — this is your day. We keep ratios tiny (max 2 students per instructor, often 1:1) so you get unhurried personal coaching from the moment you fit your mask to the moment you surface.

FAQ
Do I need to know how to swim?
You should be comfortable in water and able to float — you do not need to be a competitive swimmer. We never throw anyone in the deep end; the whole experience is gradual and supervised.
What if I panic underwater?
Your instructor is right next to you the entire time and you're never more than a few seconds from the surface. If you're not enjoying it, we calmly ascend together. There's zero pressure to push past your comfort.
Can I do this if I wear glasses?
Yes. Contact lenses are fine, and we have prescription dive masks available on request — let us know your prescription a day in advance.
How deep will we go?
PADI/SSI Discover Scuba is limited to 12 metres maximum. In practice we usually stay around 6–8 metres where the reef is most colourful and the light is best.
Does the dive count toward Open Water certification?
Yes! If you decide to continue, we credit your DSD experience toward your Open Water Diver course — effectively saving you a confined water session.
